Perfume ERP case study: a UAE fragrance house on one screen

A perfume manufacturer in the UAE came to us running a busy production floor on spreadsheets, chat messages and a few notebooks. The records were mostly there. The problem was that they were scattered, so no single person could look at one screen and know what every order needed today. We built them Flowline (formerly Flowline) on Odoo, and the whole floor now runs from one place.

To put it in context: this is a fragrance house of around 40 people across production and the office, carrying roughly 600 active SKUs of bottles, scents and packaging, and moving every order through nine tracked stages from confirmation to dispatch.

The situation

This is a fragrance house that makes and fills its own products, from oud and attar to spray perfume. As the order book grew, the way of working did not keep up. An order might be confirmed in a chat, its advance noted in one spreadsheet, its materials checked in another, and its dispatch tracked in someone’s head. Nothing was wrong with any single record. The cost was in stitching them together.

What was slowing them down

• No shared view of where each order actually was on the floor
• Blocked orders, waiting on materials or artwork, were often discovered late
• The production team and the finance team were working from different numbers

What we built

What changed

The biggest change was not a new feature. It was that everyone now opens the same screen and acts straight from the list. The records were already solid, so the real win was cutting the clicks and the hunting. The clearest example is month-end: what used to take about three days of matching production against invoices now takes under an hour, because the floor and the accounts already agree.

• The floor and finance look at one number for each order, not two

• Nobody chases updates across chats and spreadsheets to find out where an order is

Why it worked
